Within the @one Alliance, we are a collaborative organization comprising eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) and our extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment program.

As we enter this exciting phase for the water industry, maintaining industry-leading commercial and cost management processes is essential to not only meet but exceed our objectives and customer expectations.

To support our journey of commercial excellence, we are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Water Non-Infrastructure team!

What will you be doing as our new Quantity Surveyor?

As a Quantity Surveyor in the @one Alliance, you will act as the commercial conscience of the integrated delivery team, providing support to both delivery management and on-site teams. Your responsibilities include controlling costs, maximizing value, minimizing liabilities, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Managing all aspects of commercial and cost management of projects as assigned by the Project Commercial Manager.
2. Ensuring robust cost management with accurate, timely reports and data to aid commercial decisions.
3. Ensuring project team members understand contractual arrangements to meet client and partner requirements.
4. Collaborating with the delivery team to identify, implement, and monitor efficiency plans throughout project lifecycles.
5. Maintaining proper records, including final accounts, for audits and cost assurance.

Skills, experience, and behaviors:

Extensive experience in cost management is essential. A Degree (or equivalent) in engineering, management, or a related discipline is beneficial but not mandatory. Passion and desire to pursue a career in Commercial Management are more important.

You should demonstrate excellent customer service and leadership skills, with in-depth knowledge of construction and safety standards. Comfort challenging processes and practices to improve commercial offerings is also important.
