Overview
We’re looking for a Head of Legal, Risk & Compliance to play a key role in strengthening governance, legal oversight, and risk management across Splendid Hospitality Group.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will coordinate the Group’s legal affairs and support the development of a robust, proportionate risk and compliance framework across our Hotels, Restaurants, and Care operations.
You will play a pivotal role in establishing the Group Risk Committee, providing structure, insight, and coordination while enabling strong decision-making and a positive risk culture. This is a unique opportunity to build frameworks from the ground up and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organisation.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in dynamic, multi-site environments and enjoys balancing legal expertise with commercial pragmatism.

* The Grand Hotel, York
* Four Points Flex by Sheraton, London Euston

The Role
* Establish and support the ongoing operation of the Group Risk Committee, including governance, reporting, and action tracking
* Develop and maintain the Group risk register, working with senior leaders to identify and mitigate key risks
* Support the embedding of a consistent and pragmatic risk management framework across the organisation
* Provide risk insight and reporting to the Executive Team, Risk Committee, and Board
* Monitor legal and regulatory developments, translating these into clear, practical guidance
* Support governance through the development and review of Group policies and compliance frameworks
* Provide legal support across operational matters, including property, licensing, and commercial arrangements
* Manage relationships with external legal advisers, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective support
* Act as a trusted advisor to the business, balancing legal and risk considerations with commercial priorities
* Strong generalist legal background, with experience across commercial contracts and operational legal matters
* Experience working in-house or closely with operational and senior leadership teams
* Experience in Hospitality, Social Care, or other regulated, multi-site environments is highly desirable
* Experience supporting risk committees, governance forums, or compliance frameworks
* Knowledge of risk registers, assurance reporting, and internal control environments
* Confident working with senior leaders and influencing decision-making
* Highly organised, structured, and comfortable building processes and frameworks from scratch
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels
* Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-focused
