Opportunity Overview
Thames Water offers an exciting opportunity to become a Class One LGV driver for articulate vehicles. The apprenticeship begins at Basingstoke STW, with subsequent placement at Oxford Sewer Treatment Works. The start date is 1st September 2025. Applicants must not already possess a Class One license.
Role Responsibilities
* Shadowing drivers to learn routes and sites.
* Transporting sludge between sewage treatment works.
* Delivering cake to farmers for spreading on fields.
* Assisting with clearing wet wells with the team.
* Handling vehicle movements and collections, including welfare units, tankers, Hiabs, cars, and 4x4s.
* Assisting with vehicle maintenance to keep the fleet ready and operational.
Apprenticeship Details
* Embedded induction by employer and Seetec.
* On-the-job training and support from a dedicated apprenticeship coach.
* Access to online learning and an e-portfolio for evidence collection and assessment preparation.
* Duration: 12 months plus 3-6 months for end point assessment.
Working Conditions
38 hours weekly, starting at 09:00. Hours may vary with training and college attendance.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Valid UK driving license.
* Minimum age: 18 years.
