Compliance Officer - Maternity Cover - 12 Months

Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Start date: Early to mid-February 2026
Schedule: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week) | Hybrid

The Role
Responsibilities
* Driving a compliance culture across the business aligned to Oodle's values.
* Embedding the core principle of consumer regulation into our first line operations.
* Identifying compliance risks and developing appropriate controls within the regulatory framework in which we operate.
* Horizon scanning and managing regulatory change initiatives.
* Providing advisory support to the Commercial, Marketing, Product and Credit Risk functions to ensure the company's operating controls are compliant, including new business proposals, customer communications, financial promotions, and training material.
* Producing periodic reports to internal governance committees such as the Risk Committee in an accurate and timely manner.
* Assisting with key strategic projects by providing accurate and reliable compliance advisory support.
* Attending key governance committees to provide compliance opinion and challenge.
* Undertaking FCA SM&CR administration.
* Supporting assurance reviews as outlined in the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan.
Capability, Knowledge and Experience
Essentials
* Minimum of 3 years proven experience working in UK motor finance in Consumer Finance regulatory compliance.
* Working understanding of FCA sourcebooks including CONC, DISP, SUP, SYSC and PRIN.
* Awareness of the Consumer Credit Act and hire purchase agreements.
* Experience of intermediary supply chains.
* Able to work independently, pro-actively with an analytical mindset.
* Actively displays and promotes customer centricity.
* Incredible attention to detail.
* Excellent time management and planning skills.
* Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Preferred
* ICA Diploma in Compliance.
* Understanding of the Data Protection Act including UK GDPR.
* Previous experience of undertaking assurance activities.
