English Teacher Role at Glebedale School
To secure high-quality teaching, effective use of resources, and improve standards of learning and achievement for all pupils. The role involves improving pupils' learning in English and contributing to the development and implementation of English policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead responsibility for English across the secondary school, developing plans with clear targets and success criteria.
* Consult with the Headteacher/Deputy Headteacher to undertake other responsibilities ensuring effective curriculum delivery.
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils and young people.
* Work in accordance with professional, statutory, and legal requirements, and school policies.
* Support staff in achieving school improvement targets related to English and monitor progress.
* Set appropriate expectations and targets for pupils.
* Keep parents/carers informed about the curriculum, targets, and pupils' progress in English.
Knowledge and Understanding:
* The school's vision, aims, priorities, and curriculum policies.
* Statutory curriculum requirements, assessment, recording, and reporting standards.
* Characteristics of high-quality teaching and strategies for maintaining high standards.
* Implications of the special educational needs code of practice.
Qualifications: UK QTS or equivalent.
