Overview
Applications are invited for the post of Maintenance and Performance Manager in the Estates Department. This role is a core element of the Estates Directorate, managing a wide range of issues, coordinating a large team of in‑house trades people and external contractors. The post sits within the Estates directorate responsible for delivering services campus wide to enhance student, staff and visitor experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head of Maintenance Services in developing the campus maintenance services team, advising on MEP and building related issues through oversight of the DLT and external contractors.
* Set and review service KPIs, SLAs and produce dashboards aligned with the RH2030 strategy.
* Ensure policies, procedures and systems are legally compliant, current and appropriately consulted and communicated.
* Drive continuous service improvement, managing quality, performance and delivery of reactive and planned activities of the maintenance team and outsourced contractors.
* Act as main point of contact for health and safety policies and ensure best practice.
* Liaise with the Service Desk to allocate tasks and maintain communication with internal customers.
* Deliver a professional, customer‑focused campus maintenance team, valued and well‑consulted, reporting on effectiveness against agreed KPIs, SLAs and dashboards.
* Participate in the Duty Manager rota for out‑of‑hours emergencies.
* Implement and develop EDI initiatives and policies.
Qualifications and Experience
* Full working knowledge and experience in implementation and development of EDI initiatives and policies.
* Experience in managing maintenance teams, MEP issues and contractor oversight.
* Strong understanding of KPIs, SLAs and performance dashboards.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practice.
* Strong communication, consulting and stakeholder management skills.
