At the University of Lincoln, we are proud of our strong commitment to student partnership, innovation and civic impact. We are a university that values collaboration, ambition and inclusivity, and we are committed to creating an environment where both colleagues and students can thrive.
Due to internal promotion, we are looking for an inspiring and forward-thinking academic leader to join us as Head of School of Psychology, Sport Science and Wellbeing.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a collaborative and interdisciplinary School at a significant point in its development. With real momentum across teaching, research and external engagement, the School is well placed for further growth and innovation, and we are looking for someone who can help shape the next stage of its journey.
As Head of School, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio of activity. You will help shape the School’s academic direction, strengthen its culture and external profile, and support continued growth in research, student experience and portfolio development. The role will also involve driving interdisciplinary collaboration across subject areas, supporting innovation in teaching and research, and creating an environment where colleagues feel supported to develop and succeed.
Working closely with the College Leadership Team, you will bring a collaborative and authentic leadership style, balancing high standards with a strong commitment to inclusion, staff development and psychological safety. We are looking for someone who can lead through change positively and confidently, while building trust, encouraging new ideas and fostering a strong sense of shared purpose.
We welcome applications from experienced higher education leaders with a track record of leading through transformation and change. You will bring academic credibility, strategic thinking and a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges currently facing the sector. Experience of leading interdisciplinary teams, developing innovative academic portfolios, enhancing student outcomes and building inclusive, high-performing cultures will be particularly valuable.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain an active contribution to teaching, research and/or knowledge exchange within a relevant discipline area.
