Job Description We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Speech and Language Therapist to join the team at a friendly and well-resourced special school in Essex. Working closely with teaching staff, support workers, and other professionals, you will help ensure communication strategies are embedded throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication needs Design and deliver targeted therapy programmes for individuals and groups Support and advise teaching and support staff on communication strategies Work closely with families to involve them in therapy goals and progress Monitor and record student progress, adjusting interventions as needed Contribute to EHCP reviews and professional reports Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet students’ holistic needs Promote inclusion and participation for all learners Qualifications and Experience Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, preferably in a school setting Knowledge of a range of communication interventions and assistive technologies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and within a team Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development At SENDirect, we’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
