Summary
Permanent role based at East Midlands Airport as an Airfield Ground Lighting Technician.

The role
Ground Lighting Engineers are vital for airport safety. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, alignment, and installation of Airfield Ground Lighting, High Mast Lighting, generators, and control systems, following manufacturer recommendations and CAA/SRG codes of practice.
Main responsibilities:
* Document and record all maintenance, alignment, and installations as per EMA standards.
* Perform routine maintenance and installation of other aeronautical ground lighting equipment as directed.
* Undertake any additional duties of similar responsibility as prescribed.
* Attend courses to maintain competence in aeronautical ground lighting maintenance.
* Carry out planned maintenance schedules.
* Assist in the efficient operation of the Airfield Engineering stores.
* Assist in training trainee or apprentice engineers.
* Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and company procedures.
What will make you successful in the role?
The position requires living within commuting distance of East Midlands Airport. Candidates should be experienced electrical engineers or contract electricians with a recognized apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ3 Electrical Installation), fault-finding experience, and 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification.
Key qualities include a methodical approach, problem-solving skills, initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in aerodrome or ATC environments is not mandatory but beneficial.
