This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in quotations, estimating, or bid management. You will play a key role in managing the full bid and quotation process, ensuring accurate and commercially competitive submissions are delivered within customer deadlines.
The Role
As Bid Manager, you will be responsible for leading the quotation process from initial enquiry through to final submission. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and commercial teams to ensure all bids are technically compliant, commercially sound, and aligned with business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the full quotation and bid process from enquiry through to submission
Coordinating workload across costing, estimating, and quotation activities
Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and customer requirements
Producing accurate material, labour, and subcontract costing models
Identifying commercial and operational risks within enquiries
Supporting pricing strategies to balance competitiveness and profitability
Ensuring customer deadlines and turnaround times are achieved
Maintaining clear and auditable quotation records
Driving continuous improvement across bid and estimating processes
Providing leadership and direction across the quotations or estimating teamAbout You
We are looking for someone who has:
Previous experience in a bid management, estimating, quotations, or proposals role
A strong understanding of material and labour costing
The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
Experience coordinating workloads or leading teams
Good working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelDesirable Experience
Electronics, engineering, or contract manufacturing experience
Knowledge of subcontract processes and supply chain costing
Previous people management experience
