We're looking for a hands-on Sprinkler Design/Project Engineer to join our Repairs Division, ideally someone with experience in small works such as shop unit fit-outs, minor refurbishments, and system alterations.
This role is perfect for a Design Engineer who is confident using AutoCAD 2D and hydraulic calculation software, and who is ready to take the next step into Project Management. You'll bring 3+ years' experience in fire sprinklers, along with a solid understanding of how small-scale projects are delivered.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Sprinkler Design/Project Engineer in our Repairs Division, you'll oversee the delivery of smaller-scale sprinkler system projects, including:·
* Managing minor installations, system modifications, and remedial works·
* Reviewing and producing technical drawings and specifications·
* Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams·
* Attending site visits, client meetings, and handovers·
* Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations·
* Preparing risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH documentation.
* Supporting junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years' experience in fire sprinklers
- Familiarity with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, or FM Global standards
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., FHC)
- Revit experience is a bonus but not essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously
