We are partnered with a trusted recruitment business to support the search for an experienced Automation Engineer .

We are supporting a leading UK manufacturing business operating within a highly automated, fast-paced production environment. The company has invested heavily in UK manufacturing, engineering, robotics, and automation technology, supporting continued growth across multiple production sites.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and support automation and electrical control systems
* Program and optimise PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial networks
* Support robotics and cobot integration projects
* Assist with automation projects from design through to commissioning
* Produce and review electrical drawings and technical documentation
* Troubleshoot automation and control system issues
* Ensure compliance with machinery safety standards
* Drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations


About You

* HNC / HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or similar
* Strong experience in PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Schneider, Allen-Bradley or equivalent)
* Good understanding of automation systems, control architecture, and industrial networking
* Ability to read and produce electrical schematics and technical drawings
* Experience working on automation, controls, or manufacturing engineering projects
* Strong understanding of machinery safety standards and safe system design
* Practical, hands-on engineer with strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
