Glaziers Hall is one of the historic City of London Livery Halls and the only one located south of the River Thames. Our historic river warehouse building has been transformed over the last 50 years into one of London’s most versatile events venues. As well as being home to the Worshipful Company of Glaziers, Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers and Worshipful Company of Launderers we host a diverse range of corporate and private events, everything from corporate conferences and strategy days to boxing press conferences, wine tastings to candlelight concert, there isn’t much that doesn’t work perfectly in the venue with its rich blend of history (the Worshipful Company of Glaziers dating back to the mid 1300’s) coupled modern finish and facilities.

Overview:
As Head of Event Sales you will lead and be responsible for the proactive sales function at the venue. This is an entirely new role so comes with real opportunity to shape your vision and have positive impact. Reporting to the MD, you will create and enact the proactive sales strategy focused on delivering new business to the venue with a particular focus on large catered events be it exclusive hire conferences, large awards dinners or Christmas parties. There is then an element of project work, focusing on need periods such as August or identifying opportunities for additional sites as we look to grow the business on a wider scale.
Reports to: Managing Director, Glaziers Hall
Work Base: Glaziers Hall, normal working ours are Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm (including 1 hour for lunch), flexibility required for evening networking/client events/FAM trips/trade shows as required. This is not a work from home role.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Create & implement a sales strategy to build upon existing revenue performance with a focus on delivering new catered business to the venue, building upon the consistent revenue performance of the last few years.
* Cultivate new business relationships with a particular focus on large, catered events such as 200 person plus DDR’s, awards dinners and Christmas parties for 150+ sit down and 250+ reception style.
* Identify need periods and take proactive steps to fill these gaps in the diary.
* Cultivate, maintain and grow relationships with existing key clients, increasing their spend with the venue.
* Lead negotiations for high value events contracts in conjunction with the sales office team.
* Continuously analyse the London event market identifying trends, competition and opportunities.
* Represent the venues at trade events e.g. The Meetings Show, IMEX, IBTM, BNC Show.
* Organise venue-based showcase events for clients, prospective clients and agents.
Development Opportunities:
* Support the business in pitching for new venue tenders as required – a mixture of documentation preparation and in the room pitching to prospective venues in collaboration with Glaziers Hall and LK Catering & Events senior management.
* Identify any suitable sites/opportunities for expansion and bring them to senior management.
Ideal Candidate:
* Proven sales track record in business development/proactive sales from a high-end events/hospitality background
* Experience working across London events venues
* Excellent communicator and enjoys building new relationships
* Strong networking skills to establish and maintain connections, someone who genuinely enjoys walking into a crowded room
* Strong presentation, pitching and negotiation skills
* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies, meet revenue targets and drive business growth
* Strategic Thinker with a mindset/ability to analyse market data, identify opportunities and contribute to the development of effective business strategies.
* Collaborative approach – experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing positive outcomes
* Previous experience in managing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for business/account growth
* Results oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.

* Competitive salary, £50,000 per annum (very happy to consider applications from those looking for a part time role, pro rata)
* Annual Bonus of up to 20% of salary (£5,000 for first £100k-£300k of revenue generated, £5,000 for 500k and then another £5000 for every 250k of revenue generated after that-revenue defined as total invoice value for new events that generate venue hire and catering revenue)
