As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the nursing team, facilitating the efficient functioning of the multidisciplinary team to assess care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate care programmes.
In this role, you will coordinate the running of the Intensive Care Unit, working collaboratively to ensure a good patient journey and supporting and developing team members. Support and education in managing acutely unwell patients will be delivered at ward level when working in the Outreach role.

Main Duties:
1. Coordinate shifts while maintaining a calm and professional attitude.
2. Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards and meet patient needs.
3. Provide clinical advice, training, education, and support to patients, relatives, and colleagues.
4. Promote a safe clinical environment for patients, carers, visitors, and staff, complying with Trust policies, procedures, guidelines, and values.
The Intensive Care Unit is a 14-bed unit admitting level 2 and 3 patients requiring complex care, supporting their rehabilitation within the unit and on their journey home.
The multidisciplinary team collaborates to meet patients' needs compassionately and to high standards, aiming to help patients achieve their optimal health post-critical illness or ensure a peaceful death.
