Talent Management Specialist( Assoc CIPD )

Fixed Term post until 31/12/2025 due to SPF funding

Do you have experience of working with young people and a passion to support them to live good lives? Can you manage and develop a range of Youth Work interventions and provide high quality support to young people at risk of/or experienced youth homelessness? If the answer is yes then we want you to join Neath Port Talbot Council as a Youth and Community Worker.

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

Providing Youth Work support that is holistic, person centred, trauma informed, and needs led for young people aged 11 – 25 years old who are at risk of/or have experienced homelessness in Neath Port Talbot.

The aim of the project is in line with Welsh government’s vision that homelessness is brief, rare and unrepeated.

The main duties of the post;

* Develop and deliver a range of Youth Work interventions for children and young people aged 11 – 18 years old living in temporary accommodation due to family homelessness.
* Provide a range of preventative support to 18 - 25 year olds who are at imminent risk of experiencing youth homelessness
* Work with young people aged 16 - 25 years old who have experienced homelessness and move with them through other services and providers including the transition from Children to Adult Services, being a consistent and trusted adult in their journey.
* Maintain a caseload and ensure satisfactory outcomes for young people
* Ensure that robust and accurate record keeping is embedded within the project
* To work collaboratively with a range of organisations and partners
* To ensure the delivery of high-quality youth work by following and implementing the service’s quality assurance procedures incorporating the following documentation: project proposals, session records and contact logs, registration and evaluation forms.
* To work flexible working patterns, including evenings and weekend work as required.
* To assist in the collection of appropriate monitoring information
* To ensure that the Corporate Health and Safety Policy is adhered to
* To inform line management of any concerns which may result in the implementation of Local Authority policies, such as child protection/safeguarding, grievances, complaints or disciplinary.

You will have experience of;

* Experience of working with young people aged 11 – 25 years old in a non-formal/informal setting.
* Experience of planning and delivering 1-1 sessions and group work activities.
* Experience of supporting young people through partnership working with other key professionals.

Ideally you will have;

* The relevant national youth work qualification required for registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* Although it is essential to have a national youth work qualification to apply for this post, if you do not have one, we will consider applicants who are prepared to achieve the appropriate nationally recognised Youth Work Qualification within 2 years of being appointed into the role.
