Your new role
As Senior Materials Controller, you will lead site materials management, warehousing, and logistics activities across manufacturing and warehouse operations.You will plan and control purchasing, manage inventory accuracy, and oversee inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring materials are available to support production and new product introduction. You will act as a senior operational lead on site, deputising for the Materials Manager where required.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading end‑to‑end materials flow, from goods inwards through to finished product shipment.
2. Planning and managing purchasing activities using ERP systems, including raising and controlling purchase orders
3. Ensuring accurate labelling, traceability, and inventory control within a regulated manufacturing environment
4. Managing warehousing operations, storage practices, and material handling to support efficient production
5. Coordinating logistics, packaging, labelling, shipping, returns, and clinical site collections
6. Maintaining accurate inventory records, cycle counts, and stock takes, resolving discrepancies and root causes
7. Supporting manufacturing teams by resolving material, process, and supply issues
8. Leading investigations intoponent non‑conformance and implementing corrective and preventive actions
9. Driving continuous improvement across materials, logistics, and warehouse processes
10. Supporting new product introduction, development, and scale up activities
11. Mentoring and supporting technicians and team members, promoting best practice and accountability
12. Working closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain stakeholders
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring strong technical materials management experience and a practical, hands on approach.
Essential requirements:
13. Experience in materials management within a manufacturing or warehousing environment
14. Strong experience working in regulated industries, ideally medical devices, pharmaceuticals, ISO 9000 environments or similar
15. Proven experience with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills
16. Strong understanding of inventory control, traceability, andpliance
17. Experience supporting manufacturing operations and logistics coordination
18. Excellent attention to detail and ability to operate in a fast paced environment
