*Job Summary*We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards and company policies. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment where precision and adherence to safety regulations are paramount.*Responsibilities** Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.* Perform thorough inspections of vehicle components including brakes, lights, tyres, suspension, and exhaust systems.* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out necessary adjustments or repairs identified during inspections.* Maintain accurate records of each test performed, including detailed reports on vehicle condition and any required remedial work.* Assist with vehicle preparation prior to testing and ensure all equipment is calibrated and maintained in optimal condition.* Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, including the proper handling of heavy lifting tasks and hazardous materials when necessary.* Provide excellent customer service by explaining inspection findings clearly and professionally.*Experience** Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar vehicle inspection role is preferred.* Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and components.* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment relevant to vehicle inspection tasks.* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicles or equipment during inspections or repairs.* Familiarity with current MOT testing regulations and standards is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate.* A valid MOT tester certification recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency) is required for this position.
