Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional and dedicated Gardener and Housekeeper Couple to join a beautiful private estate in Wiltshire. This is a collaborative role that offers the chance for both partners to work together, combining responsibility and variety.
The couple will divide their time between supporting the smooth running of the main residence and maintaining the estate’s extensive and diverse gardens. This is a hands-on position that requires teamwork, flexibility, and a genuine enthusiasm for country living.
Responsibilities
* Household duties: within the house, ensure the home is always prepared for the owners’ arrival and departure. Tasks include regular cleaning and housekeeping, hoovering, dusting, laundry, ironing, and keeping wardrobes and rooms in excellent order. The home should always be presented in a welcoming and well-organised manner with a high standard of detail and care.
* Ad hoc activities may include driving and shopping.
* Gardens: manage the grounds (around fifteen acres) including a traditional knot garden, an established orchard with fruit trees, a kitchen garden, and ornamental planting that changes with the seasons. Other features include ponds, lakes, woodland areas, a swimming pool and a meadow. Tasks include lawn care and mowing, planting and pruning, tree and hedge work, weed control, and general maintenance including equipment upkeep to keep the grounds in excellent condition.
* Estate maintenance: contribute to keeping the property well maintained and secure. Duties include a wide range of ad hoc and periodic handyman activities, management of third-party maintenance contracts, and support for deliveries and visitor access to the property.
* Pet care: care for two cats living on the estate.
Accommodation and Benefits
A one-bedroom cottage is provided. Bills including heating, lighting, water and TV licence are covered by the employer, with only Council Tax to be met by the employees.
Requirements / Qualities
* Experience working within a similar private estate environment.
* Combination of strong housekeeping, handyman and hands-on gardening skills.
* Trustworthy, reliable, and long-term in approach; able to work closely together to high standards and embrace rural estate living.
Salary and Location
SALARY: Combined Salary £55,000
