Contract Manager
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000
Location: Central London
We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to take full ownership of a large, complex commercial estate, leading a multidisciplinary engineering team and managing a high-value hard services contract. This is a senior, client-facing role with full responsibility for safety, compliance, performance, and financial delivery.
You will lead a team of approximately 17 direct reports, including a Supervisor and Contract Support, ensuring the estate is operated safely, compliantly, and cost-effectively. You will be accountable for contract performance, statutory compliance, planned and reactive maintenance, and delivering excellent customer service through a proactive, professional approach.
Key Responsibilities
Full ownership of contract delivery, including P&L, WIP, debt, and budget control
Ensure 100% compliance with UK H&S legislation, statutory maintenance, and industry standards (ACOPs, SFG20, HVCA)
Lead, develop, and performance-manage engineering teams, including recruitment, appraisals, training, and succession planning
Oversee PPM and reactive maintenance, ensuring completion, quality, and documentation via the CAFM system
Act as the primary client interface, attending meetings and driving high levels of customer satisfaction
Manage subcontractors, procurement, and third-party service delivery
Produce operational, financial, and compliance reports, including audits and incident investigations
Drive service improvements, additional works, and contract growth opportunities
Promote a strong health & safety and customer-first culture
What You'll Bring
Proven experience as a Contract Manager or Senior Supervisor within hard FM services
Experience managing large commercial or mixed-use estates in a contract-led environment
Strong knowledge of UK statutory compliance, maintenance standards, and best practice
Confident leadership style with the ability to motivate, develop, and retain teams
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing multi-million-pound contracts
Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder-management skills
Strong working knowledge of CAFM systems

Experience delivering contracts with full SLA/KPI compliance
Planned shutdowns and complex estate-wide works
Incident management and root cause analysis
Technical SME support to clients and engineering teams
