Job Title: Deputy Manager / Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (EBD) Location: London Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Reports To: Director of Children’s Services About the Organisation Our client is a well-regarded provider of children’s residential care, specialising in support for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The organisation is committed to delivering safe, child-centred care with a strong focus on safeguarding, professional development, and positive outcomes. Role Overview We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a Children’s Residential Home in London for young people with EBD. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the home, ensuring that it delivers outstanding care in line with Ofsted requirements and regulatory standards. This is a pivotal leadership role, requiring a proactive individual who can inspire and manage a team effectively, and ensure that each young person receives the support they need to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Ensure the home complies with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and achieves a minimum “Good” Ofsted rating. Provide leadership to the care team and promote a child-focused, therapeutic culture. Oversee safeguarding practices, care planning, and risk management. Manage budgets and resources effectively. Develop strong working relationships with external partners, including local authorities and Ofsted. Person Specification Essential: Minimum of three years’ experience in a managerial role within a children’s residential care setting. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). In-depth understanding of EBD and relevant legislation. Enhanced DBS and the right to work in the UK. Desirable: Training in therapeutic care models. Experience in improving Ofsted outcomes. Full UK driving licence.
