Overview
AECOM Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. Senior Planner role due to a significant increase in planning policy project wins and new opportunities. You will join a great team with an interesting and diverse workload and opportunities to apply your abilities. The role is based in London Aldgate Tower, with other locations considered (Basingstoke, Bristol, Birmingham, Cambridge, Chesterfield, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Plymouth). Hybrid working model; can be full-time or part-time to fit individual circumstances.
What you’ll do
* Planning Strategy and Expertise: Lead and assist on key planning policy projects, support local authority policy and strategy development, coordinate and deliver local plan evidence studies, strategic growth studies, infrastructure strategies, and other policy and strategy commissions. Provide strategic planning advice to other client and internal teams. Represent the organisation with clients and stakeholders through project work and networking events. Share technical knowledge and excellence.
* Project Management: Ensure projects are delivered on budget and within programme timelines. Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams for seamless project execution.
* Quality Assurance and Compliance: Contribute to deliverables produced by the planning policy team. Implement and uphold quality assurance and health and safety principles.
* Business Development: Contribute to the business development strategy, nurture client relationships. Lead and assist in the preparation of commercial tenders to secure new opportunities.

The Planning Practice works on major UK projects across public and private sectors, collaborating with masterplanning, landscape, environment, sustainability, transport and economics teams. Qualifications
* Experience: Significant relevant experience leading and contributing to planning policy and strategy development in a consultancy or public sector role.
* Client & Stakeholder Relations: Client focus with good interpersonal skills and collaboration. Existing relationships with clients and local authorities. Business development mindset with experience in work winning and developing client relationships.
* Skills: Ability to produce high-quality technical reports and excellent communication. Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
* Education & Professional Memberships: Degree in Town Planning or related field; membership of RTPI or equivalent, or working towards membership.
