Your Role in the Business As Health & Safety Manager, you will: Lead a small safety team and manage all site-level health and safety activities. Oversee the Integrated Management System (IMS) and all associated audit activity. Act as the key link between local operations and group-wide safety governance. Serve as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, embedding safety into every operational decision. Own safety performance data, ensuring compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Health & Safety Leadership: Develop and implement best-practice safety systems and procedures. Ensure compliance with PUWER, COSHH, and all legal obligations. Embed a risk-aware, safety-first mindset across the workforce. Provide visible leadership across shop floor operations and advise management on safety-critical decisions. Incident Management & Continuous Improvement Lead root cause investigations into incidents and near misses. Use data insights to reduce risks and benchmark safety performance. Champion behaviour-based safety initiatives and drive safety engagement. Training & Development Deliver high-impact training, inductions, and toolbox talks. Mentor and coach teams on machinery safety and workplace hazards. Align training with site needs and broader business requirements. Compliance & Auditing Ownership of the site IMS and maintain readiness for ISO, customer, and regulatory audits. Ensure accurate documentation of risk assessments, incident logs, inspections, and audit findings. Governance & Collaboration Align all site activities with group policies and reporting standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, maintenance, logistics, etc.) to deliver cohesive safety solutions. Represent the company to regulatory authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders. What Were Looking For NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma is essential. Proven experience in a health and safety management role within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Ideally, you will have knowledge or practical experience working within a fabrication manufacturing setting. Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation including PUWER, COSHH, and ISO frameworks. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and influence teams across all levels.
