Job Summary
An exciting opportunity to join our teams in Manchester and Birmingham. You will be the first point of contact for all NUPAS patients, delivering a caring, non‑judgemental and professional service. You will triage patients seeking information or booking appointments promptly, ensuring compliance with NUPAS policies, regulatory requirements and the Abortion Act 1967.

Responsibilities
* Deliver an efficient and effective appointment booking service for NUPAS relating to termination of pregnancy, contraception and sexual health screening.
* Ascertain the suitability of appointments to meet patient needs, providing information and guidance on relevant services.
* Be empathetic, treating all patients with dignity and respect.
* Explain the appointment process clearly and concisely (appointments available via face‑to‑face, telephone or video call).
* Ensure the earliest suitable appointment is offered and that all appointment times are within service KPIs and targets.
* Inform patients of any special requirements regarding their appointments.
* Communicate special requirements to the relevant NUPAS clinics.
* Identify and raise any safeguarding or risk concerns to senior colleagues, actively seeking to reduce or eliminate them.
Qualifications
* Secondary standard of education or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
* Computer literate, with good keyboard skills.
Experience
* Experience working in an office environment.
* Experience working with people.
* Experience using Microsoft Office packages.
* Ability to communicate effectively and manage conflict calmly.
* Ability to work sensitively, confidentially and non‑judgementally.
* Ability to handle personal information with sensitivity and respect confidentiality.
* Effective teamwork and contribution with internal/external multi‑professional teams.
* Good attention to detail.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in a busy contact centre.
* Experience using information systems to input, store and retrieve patient data.
* Significant administrative experience engaging with potentially anxious patients.
Person Specification
* Pro‑choice approach to reproductive and sexual healthcare.
* Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring check.
* Commitment to NUPAS aims and values.
* Willingness to learn new skills.
* Ability to work to the service rota, including weekends, evenings and on‑call duties.
* Prepared to comply with uniform policy.
