I am assisting an established and highly regarded Dartford based company in their search for a Purchasing & Stock Manager with experience gained from within a technical industry (preferably with an electrical bias). The Role We’re searching for a Purchasing & Stock Manager who is familiar with the wholesale supply base to the construction, trades (or aligned) industries. If you’re a person who can build solid business relationships with suppliers, have a trained eye on stock levels, whilst expertly forward planning resources to ensure adequate and timely supply - you’ll be the hero who keeps their projects ticking with materials arriving on time, and at the right place. About the company It’s a busy, growing company situated on the outskirts of central Dartford, Kent. It’s also a company which genuinely values and rewards their people for their efforts. The company operates within the technical / construction services arena, supporting a wide and varied client base. Your Day-to-Day Might Include: * Scouring suppliers for the best prices on everything from materials and fixings, right down to the last clip or fuse * Processing supplier invoicing * Updating inhouse CRM * Managing stock levels so they never run out (or drown in a sea of surplus cable ties) * Placing orders, tracking deliveries, and smoothing out any hiccups along the way * Pick and prepare all materials required for upcoming jobs * Keeping the storerooms shipshape, maintaining an accurate inventory * Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with suppliers and wholesalers and negotiate the very best prices, terms, and delivery times * Receiving deliveries and verifying these against purchase orders for accurate quality and quantities * Working closely with site teams to make sure their wishes come true (or at least their material requests) What we are looking for * Experienced in purchasing AND stock management—bonus points if it’s in construction or trades * A pro at negotiating, with a sixth sense for spotting potential supply and timing issues * An absolute legend for securing the very best prices and terms * Organised, proactive, and unflappable when something might be needed yesterday * Familiar with CRM software * Inquisitive and always researching opportunities to reduce costs, whilst maintaining quality What’s In It for You? * A friendly, down-to-earth team who all appreciate great teamwork * Genuine career progression opportunities * Competitive salary AND a quarterly profit related bonus * 25 days annual leave – plus bank & public holidays (33 in total) * A highly supportive management team * Employee assistance programme * Free parking Looking for the next step in your purchasing career?
