Day rate: £200-£230 per day inside IR35

Job Purpose:
To provide practical and emotional support to children, young people, and their families across the district. The Senior Family Support Worker/ Family Support Worker will work as part of an integrated team to improve outcomes for children and families, focusing on safeguarding, wellbeing, and early help. This role supports families experiencing a range of complex issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with families to assess needs and deliver targeted interventions.
Develop and implement support plans in partnership with families and other professionals.
Contribute to Early Help Assessments (EHA) and participate in Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings.
Provide parenting support and practical assistance to improve home environments, routines, and relationships.
Work with schools, health professionals, social workers, and other agencies to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records using the Trust's electronic case management system.
Support safeguarding processes by identifying risks and escalating concerns
Promote the voice of the child and ensure their needs and wishes are central to all planning and interventions.
Encourage family engagement with community services, activities, and educational opportunities.
Contribute to service evaluations and continuous improvement.
Key:
Experience working with children, young people, and families in a support or outreach role
Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation
Ability to work effectively in challenging and emotionally demanding situations
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
Relevant qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Childcare, or equivalent)
Experience using case management systems and recording interventions
