RDS operates five different facilities across three states, servicing the recycling needs of thousands of companies and households. Job Summary:
The Equipment & Bailer Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of equipment at a recycling facility, including transferring, spreading, covering, baling, loading, unloading, and compacting waste or recyclable material.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures for machinery before maintenance or repair.
2. Manage inbound flow of materials by directing trucks and coordinating safe discharge.
3. Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment, ensuring cleanliness and fuel levels.
4. Operate loaders, skid-steers, excavators, and forklifts following safety standards.
5. Complete equipment inspection reports and report repairs to supervisors.
6. Perform minor maintenance and scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment.
7. Operate the Kubota and perform baler operations.
8. Learn to load trucks, operate forklifts, and stack bales properly within the warehouse.
9. Identify grades of recyclable materials and monitor for contamination; notify management of issues.
10. Cross-train for other roles and assist on the sort line as needed.
11. Maintain a clean tip floor as required.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Status: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week, with possible weekend work. Hourly, Non-Exempt.
Education and Qualifications:
* High School diploma or GED.
* At least 5 years of recent heavy equipment operation experience.
* Experience working in OSHA-regulated environments.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to pass drug/alcohol and physical tests.
* Work in various weather conditions, tolerate noise and smells.
* Perform physical activities including lifting up to 40 pounds, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
