Clinical Nurse Specialist: Dermatology (Inflammatory)

Are you a band 7 Dermatology CNS looking for new challenges or experienced band 6 Dermatology CNS looking to develop your career further? We have an exciting opportunity at Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust. The post holder would work on both sites, mainly based at St Helier Hospital.
We are looking for an experienced Dermatology nurse to cover the inflammatory service; you would run independent nurse prescribing clinics for isotretinoin, systemic and biologics patients. Experience in other areas of Dermatology would also be beneficial.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop nurse-led clinics for patients with eczema, psoriasis, acne, and other chronic skin conditions.
* Provide expert advice, counselling, and education to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Undertake systemic drug monitoring, including biologics, methotrexate, ciclosporin, and isotretinoin.
* Independently assess, diagnose and manage patients in nurse-led clinics.
* Support and educate junior colleagues, acting as a mentor and role model.
* Participate in service development, clinical audits, and research initiatives to improve dermatology care.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and attend MDT meetings to ensure coordinated care.
* Act as a non‑medical prescriber.
Experience
* Relevant post‑registration experience at Band 6 or above in dermatology.
* Experience working in psoriasis, eczema and acne clinics using systemic medications and topical therapies.
* Experience setting up and running nurse‑led clinics.
* Experience patient and user involvement.
Knowledge
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of nursing initiatives and Department of Health improvement schemes.
* Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision and make decisions independently.
* Competent in methods of obtaining patient feedback.
* Ability to motivate members of a team.
Personal Attributes
* Ability to deal with complex and difficult emotional situations.

Salary
£55,524 to £62,652 a year pro‑rata, pa inclusive of HCAS.
