Role Overview:
You will deliver high-quality social work services to individuals and families, focusing on assessments, interventions, and safeguarding. As a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, you will meet statutory requirements and work collaboratively to enhance the welfare of vulnerable individuals and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Case Management:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the needs of children, families, and individuals, with a focus on child protection and family welfare.
Complete initial assessments and reviews in line with statutory guidelines and policies.
Develop and implement care and support plans in collaboration with other professionals and agencies.
Liaise with families, children, and external agencies to gather information and create effective intervention strategies.
Safeguarding:
Respond promptly to child welfare concerns, adhering to safeguarding protocols and legislation.
Attend child protection meetings, prepare reports, and make recommendations for court proceedings when necessary.
Collaborate with partner agencies (e.g., schools, health services, police) to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families.
Intervention and Support:
Provide support to individuals and families, helping them access services and resources that enhance their well-being.
Offer crisis intervention and short-term support to families in need of urgent assistance.
Work within Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) frameworks, providing timely follow-up services.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing expertise to the development and delivery of care and support plans.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory guidelines and organisational policies.
Participate in team meetings, peer reviews, and reflective practice sessions.
Develop strong, professional relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
Professional Development and Compliance:
Stay current with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work, including child protection and safeguarding.
Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and attend required training sessions.
Ensure that your practice complies with local policies, procedures, and national standards.
