Role responsibilities
The Supply Chain Manager will contribute to and drive forward the implementation of the supply chain vision, advising and supporting the business on strategies and initiatives that deliver value from Transport for Wales' supply chain relationships and contracts.
Responsibilities include:
1. Contributing to shaping and implementing TfW's Supply Chain Management strategy and vision into deliverables aligned with strategic priorities.
2. Implementing supply chain initiatives to encourage high performance and continuous development within the SCM team and across the organization.
3. Identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements by overseeing the supply chain and staying updated on industry best practices and legislation.
4. Supporting initiatives that extract value from supply chain relationships, delivering savings and benefits aligned with TfW's strategic objectives.
5. Developing responsible procurement governance in line with the Social Partnership and Procurement (Wales) Act, including social value measures, collaborating with stakeholders, and embedding these measures into contractual obligations and performance reports.
Who we're looking for
Ideal candidates will have:
* Experience working in a complex supply chain environment.
* Experience managing risks within the supply chain.
* Knowledge of sustainable and social value approaches to develop a diverse supply chain.
* Experience in governance and assurance of the supply chain.
Welsh Skills: The ability to speak/write Welsh is a great addition but not essential. We support and promote Welsh language skills among our employees through various development opportunities.
