Overview
Are you an ambitious clinical psychologist looking for a new challenge, career development and a competitive salary? The Cambian Group, the UK's largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation, and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as a psychologist. Cambian Meeko House is a 12-bedded children's residential home catering for 12 - 18-year-olds with ongoing mental health needs and challenging behaviours. There is a school (Home Tree School) on site to support the educational needs of the young people.
The post is advertised for a maximum of 32 hours, part time, flexible and weekdays only. The job role will include the following responsibilities and expectations.
Responsibilities
* Provide a range of psychological interventions for children and young people using evidence-based practices.
* Supervise assistant psychologists and psychology graduates (Therapeutic Practitioners) to deliver psychological interventions.
* Be responsible for assessments (including risk assessments), formulation and recommendations for psychological support.
* Formulate and deliver care plans involving psychological treatment and management of cases.
* Train and guide support staff to provide psychologically informed practices across the home.
* Implement a range of evidence-based psychological interventions, evaluate treatment options, monitor outcomes, and support/supervise others in relation to their caseload.
* Participate in evidence-based recommendations to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment, interventions and required skills to deliver the plan of care and expected health/social outcomes while minimising risk.
* Provide clinical assessments and interventions in line with Cambian policies and procedures and adhere to NICE guidelines and best practice standards.
* Attend and contribute to CMAP meetings, multidisciplinary meetings and other professional reviews.
* Maintain accurate records of clinical input and participate in regular clinical supervision and service development initiatives.
Team and Working Arrangements
The clinical psychologist will be part of a wider MDT and will have access to a Consultant Psychologist at our sister site in Newmarket.
Candidate Profile
Essential
* Post graduate doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent)
* HCPC registration
* A working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding legislation
* Experience / knowledge of routine clinical outcomes monitoring
* Experience / knowledge of clinical risk assessment
* Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
* Proficient computer skills with a broad IT skill base
* Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload
* Strong literacy and report writing skills with high accuracy
* Experience of managing complex caseloads and applying a range of interventions
Desirable
* Experience delivering specialist assessments in Autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, complex needs and/or challenging behaviours
* Knowledge of developmental trauma and supporting looked-after/adopted children and families
