We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at Moordown Plus as a Day Opportunities Team Leader. Moordown Plus is a service that supports vulnerable adults living with dementia in a variety of ways through day opportunities in a person-centred way. Some of the daily living tasks and activities will be with small groups and building based activities; others are in clients’ own homes and in the community. Our Day Opportunities services offer practical and therapeutic support for adults with a range of needs and abilities, to enable Individuals to: Participate in a range of meaningful and outcome focused activities. Develop and practice their skills. Get access to a variety of health and care services. Receive supervised nutrition and support. To live active and fulfilled lives in their local community. You will be based at Moordown and will also work at our Parkstone Connect Hub, a purpose-built day service, providing leisure and learning opportunities, through individual and groups meaningful activities. The activities promote choice, independence and aim to enable individuals to develop their skills and engage in meaningful activities such as, Pottery, Yoga, Art, Music, Gardening, Exercise, Woodcraft, Reminiscence and Sensory based activities. What you’ll do Supporting the Manager to ensure the delivery of efficient, person-centred services, providing exceptional care, that meets and exceeds the diverse needs of the people using services. Supervision of staff including allocation of duties, with responsibility for the direct supervision of a designated staff group. Working closely with individuals, focusing on their strengths, choices, assets, and goals through person centred planning and reviews. Enabling people to take part in new activities and opportunities, which can help develop confidence, independence and enable individuals to reach their full potential. What you need NQV/ Diploma Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards. Understanding of the CQC Fundamental Standards, Health & Safety legislation and the Care Act 2014. Knowledge and experience to undertake staff supervisions and competency assessments. Ability to lead and manage a team and work as part of a wider team. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to network and develop professional relationships. Full-time - 37 hours per week.
