This position is ideal for someone looking for additional hours in a friendly, supportive environment. It would suit anyone with another part-time role who would like to top up their weekly income.

The Role
Based at the beautiful Graduate Cambridge by Hilton, right on the River Cam in the heart of the historic city, the Day Porter plays a key role in supporting the Front Office and wider hotel team to ensure the smooth running of daytime operations.
As a Guest Service Assistant, you will often be the first point of contact for our guests, offering a warm and professional welcome. Your duties will include assisting guests with luggage, guiding them to their rooms, delivering amenities, supporting with room moves, and responding promptly to guest requests. You will also assist the Reception and Housekeeping teams as needed, help maintain public areas, and ensure the hotel presents a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at all times.
This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive and friendly individual who enjoys engaging with guests and being part of a supportive team. Your contribution will help ensure every guest feels valued and well looked after throughout their stay.
What You'll Do
* Greeting guests warmly and creating a welcoming, memorable arrival and departure experience.
* Assisting guests with luggage, in-room amenities, and any special requests to ensure their stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
* Supporting the Front Office with check-in and check-out procedures as required.
* Providing local knowledge and recommendations to guests, including dining, attractions, and transport options.
* Handling guest enquiries, arranging taxis, booking bike rentals, and other concierge-type services.
* Taking ownership of guest concerns, resolving issues confidently, and ensuring every guest leaves the hotel delighted.
* Maintaining public areas and the front desk to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
* Supporting upselling initiatives and promoting hotel facilities, events, and services to guests.
* Recording and reporting any maintenance or safety issues using our internal reporting system, communicating effectively with other departments.
* Being fully knowledgeable of hotel facilities, daily operations, and all fire and emergency procedures.
* Assisting colleagues across departments where needed to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.
* Carrying out other reasonable duties within the scope of the role.
What We're Looking For
* Full driving license required (over the age of 21 - for insurance reasons)
* Strong customer service experience with a friendly, guest-focused approach
* A positive attitude and a natural ability to make our guests feel welcome
* Excellent team player who works collaboratively and supports colleagues
* Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
* Basic computer literacy
* Experience with OnQ PMS is desirable
* Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and bank holidays as required
