Head of Computer Science Location: Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent GSL Education are seeking a Head of Computer Science to join the dedicated leadership team of a Secondary School in Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire. Head of Computer Science Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Computer Science department. Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across KS3 to KS5 (including GCSE and A-Level). Monitor, assess and support the progress of all pupils. Lead on curriculum development, ensuring alignment with national standards and school objectives. Manage and support department staff. Work closely with the SLT to uphold the school’s values of Care, Creativity and Achievement. Head of Computer Science Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant degree in Computer Science or a related subject. Proven experience teaching Computer Science across at least two key stages, ideally up to A-Level. Leadership or curriculum coordination experience is desirable. Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Have an enhanced child workforce DBS certificate on the Update Service or are willing to process one through GSL Education.
