We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Business Support Officer to join our Executor Services Team based at Howden House. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will:
1. Provide day-to-day support within the team alongside the Business Support Officer.
2. Process appointee referrals and monitor progress of DWP applications and payments.
3. Liaise with internal and external agencies to ensure accurate and timely communication.
4. Manage financial transactions, including paying invoices using Integra.
5. Undertake general office duties and maintain accurate records.
This role requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment.
About the Executor Services Team
The Executor Services Team provides essential support to some of the most sensitive and important functions within Adult Social Care. Our work includes:
6. Funerals and Estates: Managing arrangements for individuals who have no next of kin, arranging their funerals, and ending tenancies.
7. DWP Appointeeships: Acting as an appointee for individuals who cannot manage their own benefits, paying bills, ensuring they receive the correct benefits, and providing spending money to clients.
8. Deputyships: Supporting clients under Court of Protection orders to manage their financial affairs. This includes selling client properties, accessing private pensions and bank accounts, investing monies, and acting in their best interests.
We liaise with a wide range of internal and external partners, including social workers, social care practitioners, DWP benefit centres, pre-paid card suppliers, funeral directors, and other agencies to ensure smooth and timely delivery of services.
About You
9. Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
10. Strong understanding of Adult Social Care (although not essential).
11. Competent in IT packages (Office, Outlook, Teams etc.).
12. Experience using finance systems and understanding purchase ledger processes is desirable (training will be provided).
13. Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external agencies.
