About the Role
Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Children's Safeguarding Team.
You will play a key role in supporting children, young people, and families through robust safeguarding practice, working as part of a multi‑disciplinary approach to improve outcomes and strengthen family resilience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is confident in managing complex caseloads, undertaking statutory duties, and contributing to a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out high‑quality assessments, plans, and interventions in line with statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
* Manage a varied caseload, including complex and high‑risk work.
* Work closely with partner agencies within the Family Safeguarding model.
* Contribute to multi‑disciplinary meetings and decision‑making processes.
* Ensure that children's voices are central to all practice.
* Maintain accurate, timely case records and reports.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
* Strong experience in safeguarding and statutory children's social care.
* Ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced, multi‑agency environment.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and analytical skills.
