Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the growing Mental Health and Learning Disability (MHLD) Practice Education and Development Team for a Band 6 Practice Education Facilitator (PEF). The PEF role will provide support to students, learners and staff within the division. The post requires the development and maintenance of a learning environment where both education and lifelong learning are seen as integral to practice. The role aims to enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and positively contribute to the future nursing/midwifery workforce in line with local and national directives.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support to students, learners and staff within the division.
* Develop and maintain a learning environment where education and lifelong learning are integral to practice.
* Enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and contribute to the future nursing/midwifery workforce.
Qualifications and Experience
* First level registered nurse with experience in mental health and learning disability nursing at Band 5 level, including supervising undergraduate nurses.
* Evidence of leadership skills and ability to support others in practice; great communication skills.
* Excellent care values, strong team spirit, sense of humour, enthusiasm to work, learn and develop within the high‑pressure environment.
* Dynamic, forward‑thinking approach focused on providing safe, efficient and person‑centred care.
* Proven interest in training, education and professional development for staff; ability to have courageous conversations and demonstrate influencing skills.
* Degree level education or equivalent with extensive experience and knowledge in mental health and learning disability nursing.
* Teaching qualification desirable but not required; development supported and opportunity to present at national conferences.
Requirements
Travel across Grampian will be necessary; successful candidate must have a valid UK driving licence and be a car owner.
