Responsibilities Act as a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for students with complex medical, physical, and sensory needs.Manage personal care routines with the highest level of dignity, ensuring the physical comfort and hygiene of students.Assist in the delivery of sensory-based lessons, adapting the curriculum to meet the specific requirements of each pupil.Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, coordinating with on-site nurses, physiotherapists, and the lead class teacher.Support the use of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices to give non-verbal students a voice in the classroom.Implement bespoke behavioural and sensory diet plans to help students regulate and engage with their environment.Facilitate hydrotherapy or rebound therapy sessions under the guidance of specialist staff.Maintain accurate records of student engagement and physical well-being to assist in EHCP reviews. Requirements Recent experience (3-6 months) supporting children or adults with complex needs, ASD, or PMLD.A resilient and proactive nature, essential for a Teaching Assistant in a high-needs environment.Absolute comfort with providing personal care and manual handling (training will be provided where necessary).Reliability and punctuality, ensuring the students have the consistent support they rely on.A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is preferred, though we welcome applicants from a nursing or healthcare background.An Enhanced DBS for both Children and Adults on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one immediately).Full Right to Work in the UK.
