We are seeking a resilient and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to join our team on a part-time basis. You will work closely with students who may display challenging behaviour, providing one-to-one and small group support to help them:
* Re-engage with learning
* Develop positive behaviour strategies
* Achieve academic and personal goals
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who can stay calm under pressure, build trust quickly, and adapt to meet the individual needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students with their academic learning across a range of subjects
* Model and promote positive behaviour, resilience, and respect
* Implement strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviour
* Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies
* Maintain accurate records of progress and incidents
* Provide pastoral care and mentoring to help students overcome barriers to learning
Person Specification
Essential:
* Experience working with young people, ideally in a PRU, SEN, or alternative education setting
* Strong communication skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
* Resilience, patience, and empathy
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or behaviour support
* Understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
