What You'll Be Doing Take ownership of your own client portfolio – managing a varied mix of small businesses, processing information through cloud accounting software, and building strong client relationships Be the trusted point of contact for your clients, liaising professionally via phone and email to provide excellent service and advice Prepare and submit VAT returns with accuracy and efficiency Support the practice's MTD department, contributing to its continued growth and development Work alongside senior accountants on accounts preparation, processing entries to trial balance, and assisting with management accounts and other accounting matters Collaborate as part of a dynamic team, bringing your attention to detail, proactive approach, and willingness to support colleagues Occasional client visits to collect records as required (full driving licence and car ownership essential) What We're Looking For Essential: Minimum 3 years' recent experience within a UK-based qualified accountancy practice Proven accounts preparation expertise across sole traders, limited companies, and partnerships Strong proficiency with cloud bookkeeping software – experience with Sage Business Cloud, Xero, QuickBooks, or FreeAgent highly desirable Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, accurate work Excellent communication and organisational skills – able to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively, and consistently meet deadlines Self-motivated and proactive – comfortable using your own initiative Full UK driving licence and access to a car (required for occasional client record collection) What's On Offer Competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (higher for the right candidate) Join a trusted, established practice with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional client service Manage your own client portfolio and take real ownership of your work Work with a knowledgeable, enthusiastic team who are committed to your development Varied and interesting work across a diverse range of businesses and industries Stable, full-time role with excellent long-term career prospects Supportive environment where your expertise and contribution are valued Ready to Take the Next Step?
