As Production Manager, leading a team of 6 colleagues, the selective brush plating experts, you will direct and coordinate all activities relating to scheduling, maintaining and delivering world leading Contract Service and Manufacturing. You will support internal and external customers aiming for profitable sales growth in a timely and professional manner. What will you do? Assign personnel to jobs according to priorities, complexities and skills of individual technicians. Direct plating technicians / production staff to ensure that operations are performed in accordance with company procedures, industry standards and customer requirements. Ensure the timely, efficient and effective completion of customer orders. Report delays as soon as possible. Co-ordinate/organise/support production and/or subcontract services such as pre/post grinding, additional tooling, inspection such as measurement and NDT testing, scales calibration, Loler inspections, system audits, etc. Maintain housekeeping of all site areas, workshop / production / office / communal / etc, to a high standard ensuring they conform to EHS requirements. Ensure all equipment is maintained and kept in safe working order. Plan/organise all maintenance needs. Interpret specifications, blueprints, customer requirements and work orders to provide for accurate process information and support for customer quotations. When necessary, establish and maintain liaison with relevant staff or customer representatives to help resolve any technical/schedule enquiries that arise prior, during and after plating operations. Support Quality Systems Coordinator to ensure the company attains and maintains all quality accreditations by ensuring these systems are adhered to by all departments. Direct and confirm necessary logs, documents, non-conformances are all up to-date and ensure completion through to rectification. Schedule/plan staff holiday dates to ensure minimum disruption to normal working duties. Support Purchasing with technical requirements of company needs from suppliers. Co-ordinate/organise/support manufacturing with stock rotation, expiration, stock levels, maintenance, etc. Resolve any issues as they arise. To provide a bridge between office and production staff, assisting all parties in achieving targets and providing solutions where needed. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment, performance, quality. Provide and support excellent customer service to all internal and external customers. Co-ordinate/organise/support staff PDR's, development plans, any HR issues. Achieve target and goals as set at any time by your line Manager to assist in achieving the company's objectives. Complete all reports as requested at any time by your Line Manager. Any other reasonable duties. What do we look for? GCSE / A level or equivalent education 5 years previous experience, in a team management role within a related industry Competent in Microsoft and Sage based systems Position holder has knowledge of local legislation and regulations. Has adequate knowledge of financials and has following characteristics: leader, analytical, result oriented, creative, flexible, team player and people leader. Must have excellent communication abilities and is fluent in English, (verbal and writing).
