As they continue to grow, the company is actively focused on expanding its building services division, aiming to further enhance its reach and capabilities in the construction industry The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join our client based from their regional office in Bradford, West Yorkshire. You will have a key role in overseeing building services packages across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning education, commercial, and residential sectors with values between £100k - £5m. Responsibilities will encompass negotiating contract terms, diligently monitoring project progress and performance, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and corporate policies, resolving contractual and technical challenges, and maintaining detailed and accurate records. This position requires close collaboration with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure that mechanical systems are executed in accordance with the highest quality standards, within established timelines, and budgetary constraints. What We're Looking For Qualifications: SMSTS Valid CSCS / JIB Card First Aid (desirable however this is not essential)Experience: An extensive background in mechanical engineering and comprehensive knowledge of mechanical principles Previous experience working in a Contracts Manager or comparable position for a Building Services or MEP subcontractor Proven history of overseeing multiple projects across a diverse range of sectors including education, commercial, and residential with values between £100k - £2mKey Skills: IT Skills Solid analytical skills Quality & risk management Impressive leadership abilities Superb negotiation capabilities Expertise in budget management Capacity to effectively negotiate contract terms and conditions A solid understanding of contract law and relevant regulations Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles, systems and technologies In-depth understanding of local, national, and international regulations that impact mechanical systemsKey Responsibilities Assigning contractors Apply in-depth mechanical knowledge Prepare, review, negotiate, and implement contracts Provide regular reports to both internal and external stakeholders Facilitate agreement of terms across client and supplier relationships Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies Implement and supervise health and safety auditing procedures on-site Effectively track project budgets and ensure compliance with expenditure limits Oversee the development and review of mechanical system designs and drawings Assess contract-related risks and develop strategies to address and minimize them Communicate contractual changes to all stakeholders, administration and/or management Manage contract modifications and assess their impact on the project's scope, timeline, and budget Coordinate mechanical installation projects to ensure they align with client and corporate expectations Track contractor compliance with contractual obligations and address any performance issues promptly Ensure that all contract deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications through effective oversight Identify and address potential issues during contract execution, and negotiate resolutions in a professional manner Monitor all mechanical installations to guarantee works comply with industry standards, building codes, and client specifications Coordinate and supervise tenders, cost estimation, and project development throughout preconstruction and construction phases Oversee all aspects of mechanical contracts, encompassing the review, negotiation, and finalization of contract terms and conditions Maintain detailed documentation of contracts and correspondence, providing management with consistent reports on performance and adherence Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding mechanical services, providing regular updates and addressing concerns promptlyWhy Join?
