Job Summary
We are looking for an organised, hardworking, flexible, and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our friendly and supportive team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and compassionate individual to play a vital role in supporting our clinical team and delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Main Duties
* Perform venepuncture and collect blood samples.
* Record and monitor patient vital signs and observations.
* Conduct ECGs and support chronic disease management clinics.
* Support clinicians with minor procedures and patient care.
* Carry out NHS health checks and provide health promotion advice.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
* Ensure infection prevention and control standards are met.
* Work flexibly across Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge surgery sites.
Responsibilities
* Assist nurses and GPs where required.
* Provide compassionate care and support to patients, addressing queries and concerns professionally.
* Promote patient health and wellbeing, including advice on basic lifestyle and self‑care measures.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and professional standards.
* Ensure proper handling and labelling of laboratory samples.
* Participate in mandatory training and professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as a Health Care Assistant, Phlebotomist, or in a similar clinical role.
* Phlebotomy certification and knowledge of safe blood collection techniques.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and first aid training preferred.
* Experience working in primary care, GP practices desirable.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Empathy, patience, and commitment to high‑quality patient care.
* Organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Competence in IT systems and electronic patient records.
Working Conditions
* Full‑time / Part‑time.
* Based in a GP practice environment with direct patient interaction.
* Some flexibility required for occasional extended hours or cover.
