MCS Group is looking for a hands-on IT Operations and Security professional, for a 3-month post with our client, a true Northern Ireland success story. You will join as their IT Support & Operations Manager, leading a skilled technical team to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical IT systems. This is a key role, involving overseeing IT Support, infrastructure, and cybersecurity operations while helping to drive forward strategic technology initiatives, including the roll-out of a new ERP system. The Role The IT Support & Operations Manager will: Lead and develop the IT Service Desk and Infrastructure team, ensuring high-quality, reliable support across the organisation. Oversee the design, stability, and performance of the IT infrastructure - including servers, networks, cloud, and on-premise environments. Drive robust security management, maintaining compliance with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and GDPR. Manage vendor relationships and coordinate third-party support for hardware, software, and network services. Play a key role in supporting the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring readiness across infrastructure, support, and user enablement. Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and best practice in all aspects of IT operations. Contribute to the IT strategy and roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. The Person / Requirements A degree (or equivalent experience) in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Proven experience in IT Service Desk Management, Infrastructure Operations, and Cybersecurity. 5 years' experience leading and developing high-performing IT teams. Solid experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and ITIL-based processes. Strong understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials) and data protection (GDPR). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, adaptable approach - comfortable leading hands-on in a dynamic environment. Salary: £60k - £70k per annum (pro rata) Location: On-site in Ballymena. Contract: 3-month fixed term. Hours: 8.15am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am - 1pm Friday.
