The Herewoode Academy: Deputy Head Teacher - Engagement Salary: L18-L22 (£78,702-£86,803) Contract: Permanent, Full Time Start Date: August 2026 Closing Date: Tuesday 14th April 2026, 9:00am As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the academy-driving excellence in behaviour and attitudes, strengthening our culture of inclusion, enhancing attendance and engagement, and ensuring that every student feels safe, valued, supported and able to thrive. The successful candidate will: Support the Head Teacher in leading all aspects of school improvement and strategic development. Provide strategic leadership for behaviour, attendance, inclusion, safeguarding, admissions and parental engagement. Lead whole-school strategies to raise engagement, improve behaviour and secure excellent attendance for all students. Work collaboratively with pastoral and academic teams to ensure holistic support for every learner. Coach and develop middle leaders and teaching staff to maintain high expectations and drive continuous improvement. Build strong partnerships with families and external agencies to support the most vulnerable students. Champion a school culture that is nurturing, aspirational, inclusive and ambitious for all.
