Maverick Drinks is looking for a commercially driven, entrepreneurial Head of Sales to lead our next phase of growth.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in a high-performance culture, loves building winning teams, and knows how to turn great brands into category leaders. You’ll take ownership of our commercial strategy, lead a talented sales organisation, and drive distribution and growth of the Maverick Drinks portfolio across the UK and international markets.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Founder, you’ll be responsible for driving the commercial success of Maverick Drinks across grocery, wholesale, specialist retail, the on-trade, and international markets (EMEA & APAC).
You will lead our National Accounts team, UK Field Sales team and Regional Sales Managers, ensuring the business continues to grow through strong distribution, strategic partnerships and exceptional account management.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will combine strategic thinking with commercial execution.

What You’ll Be Doing
Commercial Strategy & Growth

Develop and execute the Maverick Drinks sales and distributor strategy to deliver ambitious growth targets.
Own the full commercial picture including forecasting, pricing, A&P investment and ROI.
Identify opportunities through data, insight and market analysis to accelerate growth.
Expand distribution and rate of sale across grocery, wholesale, specialist and on-trade channels.
Lead growth in international markets across EMEA and APAC.

Customer & Market Development

Build strong relationships with key industry decision makers and strategic partners.
Work closely with marketing to develop compelling category and brand propositions.
Drive successful new product launches within the spirits category.
Represent Maverick Drinks at industry events and trade shows to build network and opportunities.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead and develop a high-performing sales organisation.
Coach and mentor your team to deliver commercial excellence and strong account management.
Create a culture of accountability, ownership and entrepreneurial thinking.
Recruit and develop new team members as the business grows.

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a proven commercial leader with deep experience in the spirits industry and a passion for building brands.
You’ll likely bring:

Significant experience managing on-trade, off-trade and route-to-market accounts within the UK spirits industry
Strong commercial acumen including P&L ownership, forecasting and financial analysis
A track record of leading and developing high-performing sales teams
Experience growing brands within grocery, wholesale and specialist retail channels
Experience developing international markets
Strong negotiation, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
Knowledge of category trends, trade marketing and pricing strategy
WSET Higher Level qualification (desirable)
