Domestic Considerations. Incumbent is expected to serve a minimum tenure of three years in post. The primary place of duty is Wattisham Flying Station, Suffolk. Occasional travel to HQ AAC, Middle Wallop, and other outlying Army Air Corps locations is required in support of role responsibilities. Position Role: Responsible for managing apprenticeship activity across the Eastern region, acting as the Trade stream lead for Aviation Communication Specialist. Holds Corps-level responsibility for Functional Skills and Apprenticeship Social Media, in support of Apprenticeship Programme. Responsibilities: 1. Trade Stream Lead. Aviation Communications Specialist. Assist in the coordination and delivery of the AAC Apprenticeship Programme with a primary focus on the Aviation Communications Specialist trade stream. 2. Regional Apprenticeship Manager – East. Coordinate and administer apprenticeship activity across designated units. Support Capbadge Apprenticeship Lead (CAL) and Unit Apprenticeship Officers (UAOs) in managing learners, delivering briefings and inductions, and enabling employer attendance at learner reviews. 3. Learner Case Management. Provide targeted support for learners at risk of non-completion, coordinating with units and training providers to implement intervention strategies. 4. Stakeholder Liaison and Quality Support. Liaise with the Service Provider and Unit Apprenticeship Officers to ensure quality delivery, acting as a conduit for feedback and continuous improvement. 5. Apprentice Mentor Training Coordination. Act as the regional point of contact for coordinating Apprentice Mentor Training. Support the development of the coaching function to enable learner progression and timely completion. 6. End Point Assessment (EPA) Management. Coordinate and book learner EPAs. In the event of a failure, lead remediation activity to support successful completion. 7. Functional Skills (FS) Lead. Provide Corps-level coordination and subject matter expertise for Functional Skills. Ensure consistent standards, effective communication with delivery partners, and accurate reporting across all trade streams. Coordinate, administer, and book learners onto Functional Skills courses within the region, ensuring timely access to required learning and assessment. 8. AAC Apprenticeship Communications and Promotion. Initiate, develop, and manage the AAC Apprenticeship social media presence. Lead Corps-wide promotional activity to raise awareness and engagement. 9. AAC Apprenticeship Awards Support. Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of the annual AAC Apprenticeship Awards, supporting event preparation and stakeholder engagement. 10. Additional Duties. Undertake additional tasks in support of the CAL or wider HQ AAC initiatives as directed. When directed, provide cover for CAL during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of programme.
