Overview
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in need, whether in a residential setting, nursing home, or within the community. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for those you support, ensuring their comfort and dignity while promoting independence. Duties
* Provide personal care and support to individuals, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support individuals with mobility challenges and assist with heavy lifting when necessary.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions while maintaining accurate records.
* Prepare meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring nutritional requirements are met.
* Engage in behaviour management strategies to support individuals with challenging behaviours.
* Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance mental well-being.
* Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
* Facilitate social activities and encourage participation in community events to promote social interaction.
* Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
Skills
* Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and general patient care practices is beneficial.
* Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support tailored to individual needs.
* Proficient in first aid techniques and emergency response protocols.
* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks within a fast-paced environment.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
