PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The HR Assistant provides essential support to the HR consultancy team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across client delivery, internal processes, and day-to-day administration. This role is key to maintaining accuracy, consistency, and quality in documentation and communications, while delivering a high level of service to both internal colleagues and clients.


Working closely with the HR Business Partners and Associates, the HR Assistant will support a variety of HR activities across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, HR systems management, and project coordination.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Client HR Activities

* Provide administrative support to the HR Business Partner team across multiple client accounts.
* Prepare HR documents such as employment contracts, offer letters, and reference requests.
* Maintain accurate and confidential employee records for clients, ensuring compliance with GDPR.
* Support the coordination of client projects including policy updates, engagement surveys, and HR audits.
* Assist in arranging client meetings, drafting agendas, and preparing follow-up notes or documentation.
* Monitor shared mailboxes, respond to routine queries, and escalate where appropriate.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes.
* Offering first line advice for HR queries escalating to a BP where appropriate


HR Systems & Compliance

* Maintain and update client HR systems (e.g. BreatheHR) ensuring data integrity.
* Run regular system reports and highlight trends or actions for review.
* Support implementation of new clients onto HR software platforms.
* Ensure compliance with employment law and internal processes, following Roeks Avenue templates and best practice.


Recruitment & Onboarding

* Post job adverts and manage candidate applications for client recruitment campaigns.
* Schedule interviews and coordinate candidate communication.
* Prepare onboarding packs and manage the induction documentation process.
* Ensure pre-employment checks and references are completed in line with client requirements.






KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Previous experience in an HR administrative or assistant role (ideally within a consultancy or professional services environment).
* Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Working knowledge of HR systems such as BreatheHR (desirable).
* Awareness of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
* Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Positive, professional, and client-focused attitude.

Remuneration and Benefits
