Lecturer - SEND

About the role: Lecturers will deliver high‑quality, personalised teaching to learners with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities across pre‑entry to Entry Level 3. They will support learners to develop practical life skills, confidence and employability behaviours needed for adulthood.


Key Responsibilities

* Deliver engaging SEND provision focused on independent living and employment skills
* Teach learners across a wide ability range, from pre‑entry to Entry Level 3
* Plan and deliver programmes using RARPA to identify starting points and measure progress
* Support learners to develop skills such as communication, self‑care, travel training, money skills, teamwork and work readiness
* Embed employability skills and Preparing for Adulthood outcomes into learning
* Act as a tutor, providing pastoral and progression support
* Monitor learner progress, attendance and destination outcomes
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, employers and external agencies


What We're Looking For

You will have experience delivering Independent Living Skills and/or Employability provision to learners with SEND and be confident working across different ability levels.

* Strong experience of RARPA planning, delivery and assessment
* Experience teaching learners from pre‑entry to Entry Level
* Knowledge of Preparing for Adulthood and employment pathways
* Experience and implementation of Trauma‑Informed Practice and Positive Behaviour Support
* Level 2 literacy and numeracy (GCSE or equivalent)
* A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
* Strong communication, organisation and relationship‑building skills
* A positive, flexible and learner‑centred approach
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusion
