Role Summary
Are you an experienced Solutions Architect with a passion for designing and delivering technology solutions in a rapidly evolving digital landscape? Would you help shape Asda’s technology landscape in a mature architecture practice?
Your Role
Asda is looking for eCommerce Solution Architects to lead the definition of our application and technology landscape. If you have architectural experience designing solutions for modern eCommerce, please do not hesitate to apply.

- Lead the design of solutions involving industry‑leading eCommerce products such as Salesforce, Amplience, Algolia, Dynamic Yield, and Blue Yonder, and the opportunity to design bespoke solutions.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Solution design experience of modern enterprise eCommerce platforms, with specialization in core technologies such as order management, front end, mobile app, content management, personalisation, payment, search, marketplaces.
- Understanding of headless eCommerce architecture and ability to design solutions that put it into practice.
- Experience collaborating with other technical roles and working at enterprise scale to define innovative, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
- Passion for current technology trends and strong grasp of integration design patterns and technologies.
- Ability to approach design with timeliness, cost and quality factors in mind; risk identification, mitigation, and quantification of non‑functional and functional requirements.
- Excellent written skills and ability to distil complex architectures into consumable documents and views.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to a non‑technical audience in an engaging way.
- Experience presenting at Design Authority and other decision‑making forums and gaining consensus from various stakeholders.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience with SAP for inventory management and Manhattan for fulfilment in a retail context.
- Experience in solution design for infrastructure, cyber‑security, data and integrations.
- Awareness of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
- Experience with modern EA tooling; training will be provided on Ardoq.
- Experience working with Agile Architecture Methodology.
Hybrid Working
The role is based in our headquarters at Asda House in Leeds, with a hybrid schedule. You are expected to work from home and in the office, visiting the office on average about three days per week.
